Water and Energy Savings

Sacramento Suburban Water District (SSWD) would like to remind you that one of the best ways to save energy is to save hot water.

Running a hot water faucet for five minutes is the equivalent of burning a 60-watt light bulb for 14 hours. Taking shorter showers and running the dishwasher and clothes washer only when they are full are great ways to use less hot water. Want to save water and energy at the same time? Take short showers (less than 10 minutes) using a low flow showerhead! A free low flow showerhead is available at the SSWD administrative office at 3701 Marconi Ave, Sacramento.

Everyday actions can make a difference!
