Sheryl Pettinari of Elverta and her daughter, Jennifer Elsberry of Antelope are co-owners of Yuppy Puppy. Jennifer is a registered veterinary technician by trade, and opening a pet boutique is truly a dream come true for these ladies.
Yuppy Puppy is a one-stop-shop pet boutique that not only offers a self-serve dog wash, but also gives pet owners the opportunity to pick up a new outfit or two – perhaps a Valentine’s Day party dress – and a pair of boots for your freshly-washed-friend.
The folks at Yuppy Puppy believe in keeping your pet safe! You’ll find seat belts, car seats and life jackets specifically designed with your pet’s safety in mind. Did I mention that they also have Swarovski crystal doggie collars?
Doggie fashions not your style? It’s ok. Stop by Yuppy Puppy to pick up premium pet foods. Yuppy Puppy offers a good selection of natural, organic and holistic foods and treats for both dogs and cats. They also carry various dietary supplements to help improve the overall health of your four-legged friends.
A note to pets: If you are looking for a way to show your appreciation for the love and devotion your “parents” give you, Yuppy Puppy is where you should go. You will find all sorts of items – including exclusive clocks and jewelry – for your parents. (Two-legged customers are known to the staff of Yuppy Puppy as “pet parents”, which is why they also offer several articles of clothing for parents and pets that like to match!)
Co-owner Jen says that they also cater to cats, carrying a line of feline clothing (much to most cats’ chagrin), premium foods and treats, cat trees and towers and “grow-at-home” catnip. You can bring your feline friend in for a "soft-paw application" which covers the tips of your cat’s nail to prevent injury to the cat as well as your home furnishings (not to mention the arms and legs of your family members)!
Training books for new pet parents and gift cards for your furry friend loving friends are available. Layaway is also an option for larger purchases. Yuppy Puppy plans to offer free monthly seminars at the store that will be led by local area experts.
